Al Pacino-Tracy Morgan crime drama The Son Of No One deemed Sundance's first bomb

It appears that a rare dramatic turn from Tracey Morgan and an emotionally charged mustache from Channing Tatum may not be enough to sustain The Son Of No One, as The Hollywood Reporter has deemed the Dito Montiel crime thriller Sundance’s first official bomb. According to their reports, many people walked out early on the film—which also stars Al Pacino, Ray Liotta, Katie Holmes, and Juliette Binoche in assorted yelling and needling roles—enough for one observer to describe it as an “exodus,” presumably because they decided they would rather wander the desert for 40 years than watch another minute of Katie Holmes talking through the side of her mouth. Or maybe it’s all just “ginned-up nonsense,” as one commenter on the THR’s piece opines, and the so-called “exodus” was really just buyers leaving early to be first in line to snap it up? We didn’t see it, so we don’t know what the truth is, but considering the cast involved, it seems pretty likely this will get sold anyway—if only to get Tracy Morgan and Al Pacino on the same press junket.
