Alan Thicke gets his own sort-of-reality show
As part of their ongoing rebranding effort, TVGN (formerly known as the TV Guide Channel) has picked up Alan Thicke’s “reality-ish” series for a 14-episode run. Called Unusually Thicke, the show is a hybrid reality show/sitcom that Thicke describes as a “cross between Larry David and the Kardashians.”
The series will star Thicke, his wife Tanya, and their 16-year-old son, Carter, as they hobnob with celebrity friends like David Hasselhoff, Bob Saget, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, John Stamos, Bill Maher, and Tom Green. Thicke promises that Unusually Thicke will introduce viewers to “the lovable, unpredictable and often challenging people who live with the real Jason Seaver”—the Jason Seaver who casts his teenage son in a show whose title is a dick joke. Unusually Thicke will premiere April 16 on TVGN in the United States.
