Alec Baldwin continues to act, signs on to Woody Allen's next film

Those who fear that Alec Baldwin may be serious about quitting acting when his 30 Rock contract expires in 2012—a fear he continues to stoke by repeatedly saying as much—may take some solace in the fact that lately he’s having a hard time saying no to anything. Although his choices definitely have a “last hurrah” feeling: First he agreed to co-star (and possibly rock some REO Speedwagon) in Rock Of Ages alongside Tom Cruise, and today he’s signed on to reunite with his Alice director Woody Allen for his next unnamed film that will shoot in Rome, because Woody Allen hates New York now. The comedy will co-star Penelope Cruz and Jesse Eisenberg; obviously, Baldwin will play Woody Allen’s film surrogate, while Eisenberg will play the aging playboy type who makes Baldwin nervous.
