Alec Baldwin starts that "I'm leaving 30 Rock" talk again

Bored of your love and attempts to slobber him with your Emmy kisses, Alec Baldwin has announced—yet again—that he plans to walk away from 30 Rock at the earliest opportunity, telling CNN that he will leave when his contract expires in 2012. “"As much as I like acting, I know that I would love to have a different life . . . a private life . . . I think that doing this now for a living has become really, really hard,” he said, adding, “I would rather go do other things, and whatever amount of time I have left in my life, have a normal life.”

Of course, the Greta Garbo of sitcoms has been trying to escape for years now, only to find himself pulled back in again by the lure of what appears to be one of the breeziest, most enjoyable acting gigs on television, but this time (perhaps encouraged by Steve Carell), he seems to mean it. As to what he’ll do next, the NY Post helpfully reminds us that Baldwin has always said that he might enjoy putting his room-filling handsomeness to work in politics. What this means for the future of 30 Rock after its sixth season is currently unclear, which is our nice way of saying it should probably just go ahead and stop then.
