Alex Karpovsky hits the road in an exclusive Folk Hero & Funny Guy trailer

In the first trailer for Jeff Grace’s Folk Hero & Funny Guy, Alex Karpovsky has a lot of thoughts about evites. In the film, Girls’ resident crank plays Paul, a (not great) stand-up comedian who reluctantly takes a gig opening for his acoustic guitar-strumming pal Jason, portrayed by Wyatt Russell of Black Mirror and Everybody Wants Some!! On the road, Search Partys Meredith Hagner makes their group a trio. Given the subject matter—and director Grace’s roots in comedy circles—cameos from comedians are to be expected. To that end, the trailer offers up glimpses of David Cross and Michael Ian Black, who are featured alongside Melanie Lynskey, Hannah Simone, and Heather Morris.

Folk Hero & Funny Guy is due out May 12, you can see the exclusive poster below.
