Over the years, Elton John has lent his support to young musicians like Ryan Adams, Rufus Wainwright and Eminem, by touting them in interviews or performing alongside them. Now John's eclectic taste and genuine enthusiasm for his colleagues takes an unexpected turn, as he appears with Alice In Chains on the band's new album Black Gives Way To Blue, due out September 29th. John will be playing piano on the title track, a tribute to Alice In Chains' late lead singer Layne Staley. Is John just a big Alice In Chains fan? Or does he sense an opportunity?
