Alicia Vikander and Armie Hammer will fight crab monsters in their next movie
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. had a lot of things going for it: A solid cast, exotic locales, gorgeous mod fashions, and enough accents to fill a United Nations meetings. The only thing it was missing—aside from some editing—was crab monsters, obviously. Because we probably won’t be getting a sequel to remedy that fact anytime soon, U.N.C.L.E. costars Alicia Vikander and Armie Hammer have found another project that will allow them to destroy oversize crustaceans. Deadline reports Vikander and Hammer have signed on to star in Freakshift, an action-thriller from Ben Wheatley.
The folks working said Freakshift are a “band of misfit cops who hunt down and kill nocturnal underground monsters.” Vikander is the lead protagonist, and Hammer plays her love interest, who presumably shares her devotion to ridding the world of monstrous arthropods. Wheatley’s directing from a script he’s writing with Amy Jump; he and Hammer worked together on Free Fire, which also stars Brie Larson. The Oscar-winning Vikander, meanwhile, has been filming the Tomb Raider reboot.
