Alicia Vikander and Christoph Waltz pose for a portrait in the Tulip Fever trailer
Posing for a portrait in 17th-century Amsterdam is always stressful (once can only assume), but it’s even worse when you’re Christoph Waltz and the guy painting your portrait (Dane DeHaan) has a thing for your younger wife (new Tomb Raider Alicia Vikander). That’s the setup for Tulip Fever, Justin Chadwick’s adaptation of Deborah Moggach’s book of the same name. Entertainment Weekly’s report on this trailer for the film says that Vikander and DeHaan “gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs” to raise money so they can run away and be together, but the trailer is more focused on Romeo And Juliet-style romantic scheming than the price of tulips.
Tulip Fever also stars Judi Dench, Cara Delevingne, and Zack Galifianakis. It’ll be in theaters on July 15.
