All the Star Trek movies cut down to just spaceships

Because the Internet might truly be mankind’s final frontier, YouTuber ThomasHuntFilms painstakingly cut all of the original timeline Star Trek films (i.e. everything outside of J.J. Abrams’ film continuity) down to just sequences featuring spaceships of any kind. While this arguably makes the stinkers of the series more tolerable–Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is just five minutes long in this version–it turns out that the really good films in the series are still the more enjoyable ones in this edited form. Bad special effects look especially bad in isolation, like the shuttle bay in the aforementioned Final Frontier (which appears to be some sort of papier-mâché diorama) or the risible digital compositing in Star Trek: Insurrection.

That said, these cuts do make Star Trek: Nemesis sort of watchable, especially since it makes it easy to directly compare its major battle sequence with that of its superior predecessor in Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. See the rest of the films recut (including a 25-minute ships-only rendition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture) at ThomasHuntFilms’ page.
