Allison Tolman joins Yuletide horror-comedy Krampus
Allison Tolman earned critical praise for her work on Fargo as a police chief tasked with protecting her wintry town from a near-supernatural hitman. While Tolman won’t be returning to Fargo, she may again face a cold, otherworldly threat: The Hollywood Reporter says that Tolman is in talks to join Krampus, a horror-comedy film from Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat). Tolman and Emjay Anthony (Chef) will play a mother and son who face the wrath of a mythical Christmastime monster (not this one).
For those who aren’t familiar with the Germanic Yuletide tradition, Krampus is depicted as a horned demon who does Santa Claus’ dirty work. While old Saint Nick carries a sack for dispensing iPads and Transformers to all the good boys and girls, Krampus’ sack is for snatching up nasty little brats. Instead of reindeer and plates of cookies, Krampus enjoys rattling rusty chains and beating children with a switch. Despite that being the type of behavior that might get you suspended from the NFL, Krampus is blitzing movie theaters on December 4, 2015, providing catharsis to the parents of horrible children just in time for Christmas.
