Alt-comedy-gate continues: Thief apologizes (sorta), Patton puts the double smack down

Remember last week when we told you about this no-name comedian in Iowa who was lifting comedy bits wholesale from Patton Oswalt, David Cross, and others, and passing them off as his own? He read Patton's rant and decided to apologize, but not to Mr. Oswalt's satisfaction. You can read the whole letter over at Patton's site, or check out some choice excerpts below.

"…let's say someone steals my material. And then writes me to say he's sorry (after he's caught, of course), and claims he was performing on a benefit show to help the theater he was performing at. And let's say, for instance, that said actor/comedian also claims to have been a guest on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and to be one of Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Comedians, and to be filming a one hour special for Comedy Central in the fall, and also claims to be a writer for me, Louie CK, and Dave Attell.   All of which I know not to be true."

Here's some of the offending show. You may think to yourself, "Eh, this guy stole some jokes…" No, he didn't. He lifted entire minutes of other comedians' material, word-for-word, inflections and all. (And somehow makes funny material not funny!)
