Amanda Seyfried to have a “pivotal role” on Twin Peaks revival

David Lynch is reportedly not a fan of the giant spoiler space that is the internet these days, which is why even the most devoted Twin Peaks fans recently decided to abstain from sharing set photos until the revival series has aired in its entirety. But that won’t keep outlets from reporting on additions to the cast, because that’s generally the kind of news that prompts more questions than answers.

For example, TVLine has learned that Amanda Seyfried (Ted 2, Les Misérables) has just been cast as a new character for the revival; she’ll appear in several episodes and will have a “pivotal role”. The publication has no details on whom she’ll play, but speculates that she could play someone’s daughter (we won’t risk provoking Lynch’s ire by making our own guess). Seyfried’s done a fair amount of TV work, starting off on soaps like All My Children before landing a series regular spot on HBO’s Big Love. Of course, the role that might have best prepared her for a trip to Twin Peaks was as Lilly Kane, Veronica Mars’ best friend whose murder set off the events of that show.
