Amazon gives bizarre alien greeting to the Galaxy Quest TV show

That Galaxy Quest TV show Paramount has been developing has found a home at Amazon, Entertainment Weekly reports. Although we still don’t know if any members of the original cast will take part in this reboot/remake/sequel, it’s now clear that at least some of the talent behind the camera is returning: Robert Gordon, the film’s co-writer, will pen the script and executive produce the pilot. (Let’s see if he can top, “By Grabthar’s hammer … what a savings.”) Also, the film’s director, Dean Parisot, will helm the pilot, and executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are returning as well. This should inspire some good will from fans of the movie towards Amazon, which has plenty of time to donate its love and care to this series now that it has completely forsaken Hannibal.

Speaking of Hannibal, if the Galaxy Quest pilot goes to series, it will be the latest in a long line of film-to-TV adaptations that include the likes of Scream, Rush Hour, Limitless, Minority Report, and maybe Whiplash and Gravity one day because, hey, those stories could go on indefinitely too.
