Amazon renews The Man In The High Castle
Though we probably shouldn’t read too much into it, Amazon Prime Video’s just renewed The Man In The High Castle for a third season. Ridley Scott and Frank Spotnitz’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s dystopian novel charts an alternate (for now) timeline, in which America is controlled by Nazis following the Axis Powers’ WWII victory. Season two just hit a high note with “Kintsugi,” and is drawing in more viewers than the first outing. In a press release, Amazon Studios’ head of comedy and drama, Joe Lewis, affirmed the company’s commitment to the original series, describing it as a “timely” exploration of “a dark point for humanity” that has “provided incredible stories for two seasons”—which we must remind ourselves is fictional, and almost certainly not in our not-too-distant future. Eric Overmyer, who’s already part of the Amazon Prime Video family thanks to Bosch, will serve as showrunner and executive producer in the third season
