Amber Tamblyn joins FX's Y: The Last Man adaptation

According to Deadline, Amber Tamblyn has joined the cast of FX’s adaptation of Y: The Last Man (which will just be called Y, possibly to avoid any Tim Allen associations). Like, Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s original comic, Y takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all men have wiped out except for a monkey and one guy, who will be played by Barry Keoghan in FX’s TV version. The two of them will be joined by Diane Lane, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield, and Marin Ireland.

Tamblyn will be playing Mariette Callows, who is “the daughter of the president of the United States who has been groomed for a career in politics and to uphold her father’s conservative values.” Assuming Tamblyn’s character is prominently featured in this project, this looks like it could be an interesting deviation from the plot of the comic.
