AMC adds James Cameron and more to its Visionaries series

Viewers who were getting ready to learn the Story Of Science Fiction as told by James Cameron will still be able to learn at the feet (or lens) of the Terminator creator, but they’ll now add that course to one of several. AMC’s just announced that Cameron’s docu-series will fall under the umbrella of its new Visionaries series. In its wider-ranging format (it’ll run year-round), Visionaries will center on different “masters of their craft,” who will delve into the history of their respective genres. Cameron will continue to trace sci-fi’s roots, while Eli Roth will explore horror and Questlove will highlight some of hip-hop’s biggest moments in the Rap Yearbook. AMC’s also tapped The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman to head up the Visionaries installment on the history of comics. Additionally, viewers will watch the History Of Video Games, Outlaws Of The Internet, and the History Of Martial Arts.

Roth’s and Questlove’s contributions, which will each be six-part series, will air on AMC in 2018. There are currently no tentative dates for the other installments.
