AMC killed The Killing—or did it?!

Having reached the natural end of their holistic journey, and learned that the answer is not so nearly important as the question that is asked repeatedly and then met with intentional misdirection, AMC's The Killing is being canceled after two seasons of chewing on the mystery genre like so much poignant gum. "After much deliberation, we’ve come to the difficult decision not to renew The Killing for a third season," reads a statement from the network, penned while staring morosely out of a rain-streaked window, wracked with guilt over whether this is indeed justice, or musing on the distance between people, or perhaps just wondering what's for dinner. And yet, just as the case of The Killing seemed to have been solved, and those affected by its death are finally being allowed to put their lives back together, Fox has announced that it "will proceed to try to find another home for the show”—a twist that would surely lead somewhere, were we not talking about The Killing.
