Although reaction has ranged from the critical fawning that greeted its earliest hours to “STOP STARING AT THE RAIN AND DO SOMETHING,” AMC has granted a second season pickup to murder-mystery The Killing, giving it another year to develop a storyline beyond "Who Killed Rosie Larsen?" The freshman series is due to wrap up its central murder-mystery with Sunday’s episode, but according to some early reviews, reportedly there will be a twist or tangent that serves as something of a cliffhanger to stoke interest in a second year. Either that, or the show will follow its spiritual predecessor Twin Peaks, and next season will be all about “Who Will Win The Miss Seattle Beauty Pageant?” plus some stuff about aliens.
