AMC renews The Walking Dead, because it's not stupid

In other news of staggering, braindead hordes getting a third season, AMC has renewed The Walking Dead, surprising absolutely no one. As reported shortly after its record-breaking second-season premiere, The Walking Dead has become easily the network’s most popular show, so a third season wasn’t really in question. The only thing that was uncertain was just how lordly AMC president Charlie Collier would sound in his press release, and whether he’s run out of ways to wedge in an awkward zombie reference yet. “Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew The Walking Dead for a third season on AMC,” Collier said—so to answer those questions: relatively restrained and apparently not, but it’s getting close.
