AMC’s Preacher fills out its supporting cast with Misfits’ Joseph Gilgun
As reported by Deadline, Misfits’ Joseph Gilgun will be joining Rake’s Ian Colletti and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ruth Negga on AMC’s adaptation of Preacher. The comic series, which was created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is about a man named Jesse Custer who merges with a being from heaven and gains the ability to make people do what he says. He then goes on wacky (and violent) adventures with with a colorful group of pals that includes his ex-girlfriend, an Irish vampire, and a guy whose face looks like an asshole. As we’ve previously reported, Negga will be playing the ex-girlfriend (named Tulip), Colletti will be playing Arseface, and now we know that Gilgun will be playing Cassidy, the Irish vampire. The lead has yet to be cast, but Dominic Cooper is reportedly in talks for it. If he does get cast, it will be his second big comic book role, with the first being that of Howard Stark in Captain America and Agent Carter.
