American Horror Story goes running with the devil
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Wednesday, October 3. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
American Horror Story (FX, 10 p.m.): The title for this week’s episode of American Horror Story is “Could It Be… Satan?” which sits right up there alongside “Tupperware Party Massacre,” “Bitchcraft,” and “Spooky Little Girl” in the realm of peak on-the-nose AHS episode titles. Beyond that, we don’t know much, other than that the Coven’s back and people are being reincarnated and shit. Who cares? Clarity has never been one of American Horror Story’s strong suits. Just make like reviewer Molly Horan and sit back to enjoy the insanity, the performances, and the fact that they gave Cody Fern Connie Britton’s hair. Seriously, that’s a hell of a wig.
Regular coverage
Modern Family (ABC, 9 p.m.)
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (FXX, 10 p.m.)
South Park (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.)
Wild card
The Goldbergs (ABC, 8 p.m.): Speaking of evocative episode titles, tonight’s installment of ABC’s period sitcom—now in its sixth season—is “You Got Zuko’d,” which will tell anyone who’s seen Grease exactly what’s going to happen to young Adam when his girlfriend Jackie comes back after spending a summer at NYU. There’s also a special Zodiac Killer episode of Mysteries At The Museum (Travel Channel, 9 p.m.), if you just want some horror without the Emma Roberts on the side. Here’s hoping for a total dearth of Ted Cruz references.
