American Horror Story lures Emma Roberts back into its Cult

Ryan Murphy has established quite a repertory of actors for to depict the various chapters of his American Horror Story. The Feud creator has regularly been able to call on the likes of Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy, and Mare Winningham for his bewitching tales. Murphy’s anthology series (plural) have also provided a TV home for Emma Roberts, who’s gone from coven member to sorority girl under his direction. So it’s no real surprise that Roberts has snapped up the chance to work with Murphy and her fellow AHS regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters once more. As Bloody Disgusting reports, Roberts has joined Cult, which looks to be about bees, creatures that are well known for their conformity, as well as their affinity for Jerry Seinfeld.

Unfortunately, the swarm won’t include AHS stalwart Kathy Bates, who’s busy working on a weed comedy (no, really). But Murphy’s lined up a lot of new ensemble members who will try to soften the impact of Bates’ absence, including Lena Dunham, Billy Eichner, Billie Lourd, and Alison Pill. American Horror Story: Cult premieres September 5.
