American Vandal is still gone, but another season of The Ranch is just as good, right?

Netflix’s American Vandal was a beloved comedy show that managed to elevate its seemingly dopey premise into a brilliant piece of unexpectedly thoughtful television, but since we’re not allowed to have nice things in this miserable life, Netflix decided to cancel the show last week. Thankfully, all is not lost for fans of humor, because Netflix has just renewed The Ranch for a fourth season. We understand that The Ranch doesn’t exactly have the acclaim of American Vandal, and nobody’s going to claim it elevates its dopey premise or is unexpectedly thoughtful, but it does have Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliott, Debra Winger, and Elisha Cuthbert. They’re famous!

It used to have Danny Masterson too, but he got written off after multiple women accused him of rape. Also, an executive that dismissed one of the accuser’s claims right to her face got fired as well. Maybe Netflix’s reasoning is that it has already suffered a lot of PR headaches related to The Ranch, so it might as well get some more content out of it before Sam Elliott finds something better to do. Either way, we’re getting more of The Ranch, but no more American Vandal.
