Shortly after it was revealed that Friday Night Lights’ heart and sarcastic soul Jesse Plemons would be joining Paul Thomas Anderson’s Scientology drama, Deadline is reporting that Amy Adams is now officially signed to star as well. Adams will play Philip Seymour Hoffman’s wife (and here we will remind you that power is an aphrodisiac), and thus potentially Plemons’ mother, which would explain the redhead factor. This suggests that the earlier speculation that Laura Dern—who is still attached in some capacity—would play that part is incorrect, unless Adams is Hoffman’s second wife, the one he gets after he gets his own cult going. Because you know the ladies love a man with a cult.
