Amy Adams to adapt Steve Martin's An Object Of Beauty

Object of light and cinnamon potpourri Amy Adams has acquired Steve Martin’s novel An Object Of Beauty, with the intention of producing and starring in a film adaptation. Adams will play the lead, a feisty art entrepreneur who spends more than a decade charming—and often bedding—various figures from the art world as she climbs the social and professional ladders, demonstrating along the way that the only thing that can improve art is greed and commodification. Or, the opposite of that. Audiences will spend the entire movie shifting in their seats and occasionally yelling out, “Boring! Talk about The Jerk!
