For all those suffering sleepless nights over Steve Carell’s impending exit from The Office, may you find some solace knowing that his similarly awkward amour Amy Ryan will return to tie up all the lingering loose ends of their on-screen relationship. Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello reports that Ryan will “be playing a sizable role in the show’s upcoming seventh season,” quoting star/executive-producer/only-one-who-ever-seems-to-pick-up-the-phone-over-there Mindy Kaling as saying, “We set her return up in the finale, so it would be the biggest [cop-out] of all time if we didn’t [follow through] on it. She’s definitely coming back.”
