Amy Schumer is having a good year. (Amy Schumer is having a good life, really.) Her Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer, continues to draw powerful ratings and good reviews, and she recently became the first female comic in history to sell out Madison Square Garden. Presumably operating on the theory that a rolling ball of jokes about sexism, gun culture, and our country’s various celebrity obsessions gathers no moss, Schumer has now announced that she’s embarking on a massive world tour, one that will see her play on three different continents before year’s end.
The roving Schumerthon will kick off in August in Ireland, moving through Europe and then jumping over to the U.S. in September. After making her way across the States, she’ll then spend her December in Australia and New Zealand, where she’ll presumably get to revel in a whole new vocabulary of words for the female anatomy. All told, Schumer’s tour will hit 54 stops, spreading her influence to nine different countries. To celebrate her ever-rising ubiquity, Schumer also released a previously unseen Inside Amy Schumer sketch this week, featuring H. Jon Benjamin as a darkly deadpan personal injury lawyer, broken from years of fighting the legal protections that keep gun manufacturers so ironically safe.
