Amy Schumer to get kidnapped in her next movie
With her sketch show renewed for a fourth season and her first film doing well with critics and audiences, Amy Schumer is probably busy enough just juggling Emmy- and Lebron James-related interview requests. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedian is already working on that action-comedy that Paul Feig is supposedly producing for 20th Century Fox.
The untitled project is about a mother and daughter who get kidnapped on vacation, possibly while in Brazil. THR suggests Trainwreck’s strong showing has left Fox anxious to get started on the film, but they’ll probably have to wait until Schumer wraps filming on the next season of her Comedy Central show. She’s reworking a script by Katie Dippold (The Heat) with some help from her sister, Kim Caramele, and she’s already cast herself in the role of the daughter in distress. The contenders for the mom role reportedly include Sally Field, Frances Conroy, and Meryl Streep. So far, Field is the only one on the list who has been name-dropped in Schumer’s show, but you never know when they might update the “Last Fuckable Day” sketch.
