Amy Schumer will host the 2015 MTV Movie Awards
As Amy Poehler and Tina Fey get ready for one last spin around the Golden Globes track on January 11, The MTV Movie Awards has recruited Amy Schumer to host its 2015 ceremony. Much to Aaron Sorkin’s presumed chagrin, the announcement was made over social media as Schumer temporarily took over MTV’s myriad accounts last night. (The Hollywood Foreign Press Association released the guest list for its fancy dress party via a press conference.) Schumer did social-media stuff for approximately an hour last night before the big announcement, after which MTV got back to its normal Wednesday-night business of tweeting about Snooki And JWOWW.
Schumer will host the awards show that screams, “IT’S NOT A PHASE, DAD!” on April 12. The nominees for Best Shirtless Performance are still forthcoming.
