An architecture lesson from a crazy motherfucker named Ice Cube
Learning that Ice Cube studied architectural drafting before he helped draw the blueprint for gangsta rap with NWA makes this video of him talking about the Eames House in L.A. a little less head-scratching, but a lot more awesome. He lends a distinctly Ice Cubian slant to his brief tour of L.A. (including which highways have “bougie traffic” vs. “gangsta traffic”) as well as his discussion of the home and studio of modernist architects Charles and Ray Eames, which he describes as a “mash-up before mash-ups even existed” and cites as an example of “going green 1949 style, bitch.”
