An iZombie apocalypse breaks out on The CW

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Tuesday, April 4. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

iZombie (The CW, 9 p.m.): Start whipping up some tasty snacks, though presumably not the ones Liv Moore consumes on iZombie, which is back for its third season tonight. The show picks up right where it left off in the aftermath of a zombie outbreak brought on by nefarious energy drink Super Max. Now, Liv and her pals must face another potential problem: Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage), who wants to make Seattle a “zombie homeland,” whatever that means. Carrie Raisler will be following the action.

Regular coverage

New Girl (Fox, 8 p.m.)
DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (The CW, 9p.m.)
WWE Smackdown (USA, 8 p.m.)
Trial & Error (NBC, 9 p.m.)
The Americans (FX, 10 p.m.)
Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

Chewing Gum (Netflix, 3:01 a.m.): The first season of this hilarious British import arrived on Netflix quietly at the end of last year. The second arrives today, and if you haven’t gotten acquainted with Michaela Coel’s Tracey, who breaks from her religious upbringing on a quest to have sex, then you really should. Coel is a brilliant physical comedian, and the series is bawdy and outrageous.
