It's funny when super-duper mainstream culture appropriates regular ol' mainstream culture — like when the American Idol kids covered Modest Mouse. But when a massive stage filled with middle-aged (and older) Chinese people tackle Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," in their native language, with choreography, and traditional Chinese instruments, and a big weird dollhouse set… There's no other phrase for that than "next-level shit." This video has already spawned a commemorative T-shirt, of the particularly face-making lady who appears toward the end. It's no Wing doing "Back In Black," but it's awesome nonetheless.
