An unauthorized Beastie Boys musical hits the London stage, boyeeee
Now here’s a little story I’ve got to tell
About three bad brothers you know so well
It started way back in history
With Adrock, M.C.A., and Mr. Mike D.
There was a place in London called the Camden People’s Theatre
Not too big, not too small, in size it ain’t no cheater
From far across the land, it heard of this band
And decided “Hey, their lives should be onstage, in our hands.”
Called Licensed To Ill, it purports to tell the story
Of three New York punk kids becoming MCs bound for glory
Not lookin’ for permission, to get the facts right
They call that “unauthorized”—to which Camden replied, “Tight!”
It tells a little story that sounds not well rehearsed
A mix of live music and DJ’ing might be the worst
But it goes from their early days right up to the Hall Of Fame
Then it ends, all without a Beastie’s blessing on its name
Now London’s got the show, you got this clue
You got two choices of what you can do
It’s not a tough decision as you can see
You can go see Licensed To Ill starting November 23
