Over its decade-long career, Anberlin has experienced plenty of changes to its sound. Though it started as an alt-rock band, it’s slowly moved into moodier strains of new wave while also staying true to what initially informed it. With the band coming to a close, it’s using its seventh and final album, lowborn, to gently close the book on the past. The A.V. Club is premiering the video for “Stranger Ways,” which is lightly laced with electronics as the band further evolves, but instead of using lowborn as an opportunity to mourn the loss, the band uses the album as a chance to offer a final, loving wave goodbye and still smile in the process.
