The one person on earth who hadn't spoken at length about the recent Woody Allen controversy—the filmmaker himself—has written a lengthy statement professing his innocence for The New York Times, which will appear in print this Sunday but is available online now. Last week, the Times printed an open letter from Allen's daughter Dylan, accusing him of sexual assault 21 years ago. Via a publicist, Allen promised a more thorough response, which he has now delivered. It ends with the promise that "this piece will be my final word on the entire matter," though it will surely not be the Internet's final word.
