Andie MacDowell joins Mindy Kaling's Four Weddings And A Funeral series
Original Four Weddings And A Funeral star Andie MacDowell apparently can’t get enough weddings and funerals, because Deadline is reporting that she has signed on for a guest role on Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton’s Hulu miniseries based on the original Mike Newell movie. Rather than playing one of the leads, MacDowell will be playing the mother of one of the leads (four American friends who reunite for a “fabulous London wedding”) as a nod to the original film. Also, Jessica Williams was originally going to play the lead friend, but she has since been replaced with Nathalie Emmanuel from Game Of Thrones.
When this project was initially announced just over a year ago, Hulu’s plan was to make this some kind of anthology. Apparently, it would either focus on totally different characters experiencing four weddings and one funeral every year or it would continue the adventures of one of the central characters, but it’s unclear if the anthology idea is happening anymore at all.
