Andrew W.K. releases his first-ever EDM track, which naturally has “party” in the title

It would be insane to say Andrew W.K.’s music doesn’t encourage dancing—this is, after all, a man capable of using the word “party” as every possible part of speech—but he’s never wandered into the world of electronic dance music before. At least, until today, when W.K. took time off from nosebleeds, blowing shit up, and living at the nexus of a constantly expanding vortex of joy to release “Party Til We Die,” his first official EDM track.

The song—available on Soundcloud—features production from MAKJ and Timmy Trumpet, and a chanting chorus exhorting listeners to… well, you can probably guess. W.K. hasn’t actually released a full album in the U.S. since 2010, when the long-delayed-by-legal-issues Close Calls With Brick Walls finally saw the American light of day. He released a five-song EP, The “Party All Goddamn Night” EP, in 2011, but noted that his various commitments to projects—playing shows, giving speaking tours, hosting radio shows and children’s television programs—have gotten in the way of recording a new album.
