Andy Serkis gives The Hobbit an unexpected reading as Gollum
Few things are creepier than Andy Serkis’ turn as the tragic, twisted Gollum in Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings series. That is, besides Serkis himself—sans CGI, of course—reading lines from the films to a bunch of kids. The actor did exactly that recently as a warm-up for the imminent release of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy. And while the children in attendance seemed at ease, there’s something both thrilling and disturbing about that voice coming out of an actual human face. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens on December 12. (Via The Hairpin)
