Ang Lee joins Tyrant, FX’s not-quite-Homeland, as executive producer and director
In December, it was announced that FX had ordered a pilot for Tyrant, a drama about an “unassuming American family drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation” developed by Homeland producers Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff with Lost producer Craig Wright. Adding even more clout to the project, recent Best Director Oscar-winner Ang Lee has taken a break from brushing his shoulder off and agreed to serve as both executive producer and director on the pilot. Although nobody has yet been cast in the show, filming will begin in Morocco in several months. If past history holds true, viewers can expect lots of expansive views of the natural world and/or allegorical tigers. [via The Hollywood Reporter]
