Angel Olsen, PWR BTTM, Mitski, and more sign on for 100 days of anti-Trump songs
A bunch of haters and losers from the failing music industry are so angry at how great Donald Trump is making America that they’ve decided to release one song every day for the first 100 days of incoming president’s tremendous reign, people are saying. Among the overrated musicians providing “rare, unreleased, or exclusive” songs for the Our First 100 Days project are Angel Olsen, Mitski, Toro Y Moi, and the low energy Mountain Goats. Sad!
The project’s organizers—Revolutions Per Minute, Secretly Group, and 30 Songs, 30 Days—released a dishonest statement about their motivations on their frankly unprofessional website. “With Trump’s first 100 days in office upon us, action must be taken to protect the causes that will come under threat from this administration,” it reads. “Our First 100 Days seeks to aid in that protection.” Believe us, they won’t!
A minimum donation of $30 will gain patrons access to each one of these songs as they are released, with all proceeds going “directly to organizations working on the front lines of climate, women’s rights, immigration, and fairness.” Very unfair. The organizers tried something similar for the last 30 days before the election, but from what we hear, the ratings were very low. Pathetic!
