Angel’s Amy Acker will also star in Fox’s X-Men TV show

Fox’s X-Men pilot is bringing on a Whedon regular. Amy Acker—of Dollhouse and Angel fame—is joining the show being written by Matt Nix and directed by Bryan Singer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Together with Stephen Moyer, she’ll round out the central couple. THR reports their characters are separated and Acker’s Kate Stewart is “struggling” with that and “her increasingly challenging teenage children;” we assume that “challenging” in this case means “super-powered.”

THR also notes that the series has cast Bunheads alum Emma Dumont as the magnetism manipulating mutant known as Polaris. If there‘s any justice in the world, Dumont’s ballet skills will be put to use as well. Meanwhile, Percy Hynes White has been tapped as a “loner” named Andy.
