Angela Bassett must’ve been spending some time training for dangerous stunts, because Deadline is reporting that she’s just joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 6. Bassett will be playing the director of the CIA, but that’s all we really know about the role. Going off of the rest of the movies in this series, though, there’s a good chance she’s involved in some kind of evil conspiracy that Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt will have to shut down by performing death-defying stunts.
Mission: Impossible 6 is being directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and in addition to Tom Cruise, it will feature Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Alec Baldwin—but not Jeremy Renner, who appeared in the last couple movies but decided to hitch his wagon to the Avengers series this time around with Infinity War and Ant-Man And The Wasp both overlapping with the production of M:I 6.
