Animal Planet celebrating Labor Day with live animal births

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day “constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.” But because of homonyms, this Labor Day also finds Animal Planet paying its own tribute by streaming birthing farm animals until September 1. Those who can stomach it can tune in right now to the Nebraska State Fair Birthing Pavilion, which will be showing animals in and out of labor around the clock.

The live feed is already up here, complete with a link to a highlights channel for those who just want to cut to the gooey stuff. In a fascinating combination of adjectives, the description promises “the cutest, messiest, most rewarding animal birthing moments.” There will also be on-air birth alerts for TV viewers. And when the animals aren’t in labor, the live stream is just lots of cute baby animals crawling around, which the Internet generally condones.
