After engaging in a hot Ladies Of Comedy rumble with Gillian Jacobs and Kristen Wiig for the part, A.V. Club pet cause Anna Faris has emerged as the frontrunner to play the lead female role in Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator, which most recently added Ben Kingsley to its cast. Faris will play the owner of an organic food store, and her bubbly, Kombucha-fueled kookiness will win the heart of Cohen’s deposed despot, who’s left wandering the U.S. while his goatherder lookalike (also played by Cohen) takes over back home. Due May 12, 2012, the mostly improvised comedy will help us learn to laugh again at dangerous Middle Eastern megalomaniacs. Though, technically, this video already did that.
