Anne Hathaway—who took a hiatus from film in 2013, after suspecting audiences had begun to grow tired of her—is in talks to replace a too-busy Reese Witherspoon in Nancy Meyers’ The Intern, which focuses on a high-powered fashion maven who, yes, gets a new intern. Hathaway's character expects a fresh-faced youngster, but instead she gets Robert De Niro, who will probably offer valuable lessons from his vast life experience on the need for said fashionista to slow down, because life moves too fast, and she needs to concentrate on what’s really important. Or something. Anyway, the table read between Hathaway and De Niro apparently went well, and after Last Vegas and Grudge Match, it’s possible that De Niro is just in the market for some more attractive costars.
