Anonymous Chicagoan implores citizens to #neverforget that time DMB pooped on them

It’s pretty safe to assume that neither Dave Matthews Band nor the city of Chicago are eager to commemorate the day when one of the band’s drivers decided to eject 800 pounds of human waste from a tour bus onto a grated bridge over the Chicago river. Chances are also good the boat passengers that took the brunt of the poop-and-more shower (which the Chicago Tribune described as “a downpour of foul-smelling, brownish-yellow slurry”) are also not clamoring to revisit the August 8, 2004, event.

However, at least one enterprising soul is hellbent on making sure the impending anniversary of the excrement explosion is properly commemorated: DNAinfo Chicago reports that a sign saying “In August 2004, at this very location, a DMB tour bus dumped 800 pounds of poo on some people. #neverforget #alwaysremember” has been found propped up near the Kinzie Street bridge in River North. Considering the driver, Stefan Wohl, received probation, community service, and a fine—and lost his job driving for DMB—and Matthews is still being asked about “Poopgate” in interviews, clearly there’s no danger of this incident being forgotten. Never hurts to be safe, though.
