Another Battlestar Galactica spin-off on the way
The SyFy network (which is so much more than just sci-fi, you know) has just given the green light to another Battlestar Galactica spin-off. Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome will take place 10 years into the first Cylon war, when the “brash rookie viper pilot” William Adama receives his first assignment aboard the Galactica, and soon the “talented but hot-headed risk-taker” finds himself leading a dangerous secret mission.
Returning producer David Eick promises that the series—which falls on the timeline between the events of Caprica and the original BSG—will “return us to the authentic, relentless depiction of combat and the agony and ecstasy of human-Cylon war” that Caprica is mostly missing, while also “maintaining the themes of politics, social propaganda, and the timeless question: What does it mean to be human?” [SPOILER ALERT] Wait, we know this one: A long, long time ago, a Cylon-human hybrid had sex with a monkey man, right? And it had something to do with God?
