Another Buffy movie?
Given America's recent love affair with all things vampire, it was only a matter of time before someone in Hollywood talked about bringing back one of the greatest creatures-of-the-night-and-the-women-who-love-them sagas of all time: Buffy The Vampire Slayer. But the reports spreading today—initiated by The Hollywood Reporter—that the original Buffy movie's producer/director Fran Rubel Kuzui is considering making a new Buffy movie without the involvement of the character's creator Joss Whedon doesn't exactly have us doing cartwheels. Reportedly, Kuzui will be attempting to re-launch the franchise with all-new characters, keying off Whedon's idea that each generation has its own chosen one. (Presumably, this generation's slayer will just happen to have the name "Buffy" too.) Kuzui and her co-producer husband Kaz Kuzui are currently hearing pitches from writers with a fresh take on the series. Here's wishing them… luck?
