Another Ring film on the way, thanks to the magic of 3D

Paramount has plans for another entry in the Ring franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This next outing will utilize Hollywood’s newest favorite toy, 3D—though in this case, it actually seems rather suitable for a film series centered on a villain who crawls out of TV screens. While no director is attached at this time, David Loucka, the writer behind the upcoming Dream House (and, oddly enough, the 1989 Michael Keaton comedy The Dream Team), will furnish the script. Like all recent announcements about prequels, sequels, and remakes, the studio says it hopes to "reinvent" the Ring franchise by making it “more teen-centric than the first.” Apparently, “one potential scenario involves teens finding a VHS player that still works." Yep.
