Ant-Man And The Wasp is a fun (but inessential) entry in the MCU
Did the crushing cliffhanger of Avengers: Infinity War leave you anxious to find out what happens next? You’ll have to wait until next May, when the still-untitled fourth Avengers film hits theaters. In the meantime, there’s Ant-Man And The Wasp, a superhero digestif that finds Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), the size-changing ex-con everyman of the franchise, being sprung from house arrest for a sci-fi romp filled with special effects and quantum mumbo-jumbo. (For the record, it’s set slightly before Infinity War.) On this edition of Film Club, critics A.A. Dowd and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky sit down to discuss the breezy merits of this enjoyable follow-up to 2015’s Ant-Man.
